Hey guys, l was wondering why when we contract a fever, we usually have ''weird'' nightmares? this has happened almost every time when I am down with fever (my last fever-related nightmare was that l as a soldier, was stranded in a battlefield and l had to fend off these aliens and l am pretty sure l woke up 8-10 times that night just to turn over).

Hope someone can help answer this question.
Thanks!

Thats a great question. l also feel the same way but dont know the exact mechanics. The one thing l do know is that the human body is quite sensitive to temp changes of the core temperature. That means the blood temperature not the outside temperature. We live between a very narrow temperature range.

98.4 is the normal. If we go to above 99 we start to feel it. 103 is quite uncomfortable & above that is outright dangerous.

96 is hypothermia & if the core temperature gets to 10 drgrees bellow 98.4 the heart stops or actually goes into ventricular fibrillation.

So l am sure the effect on the brain (where dreams come from ) r also in the same ranges.

l get the feeling that l am really small & am being crushed between two very large planets, but the planets seem like to thumbs to me. That nightmare l have had sinse l was 5 or so.

It will be interesting to see what others write.
