My boyfriend is 15-16 stone and im 7st, will they help with the weight issue as well.
Sorry if l ask a lot of silly little questions but l wanna by it online today and l have not a lot of money. l wanna make sure im doing the right thing. ive been sleeping on the sofa for months now and l broke the bottom of my back about 9 years ago and l have to ride 4 miles to work and 4 back and im getting desperate now but do not wanna go cheap and cheerfull.

l got a memory foam mattress topper and its wonderful. l am arthritic and its certainly helped me sleep more comfortably.
l did try the complete memory foam mattress out in the shop, but l could not get off it. its not an easy thing to do with a bad back as you can not push yourself up off it. l needed help, embarrassing but funny

We have owned a Tempur (memory foam) mattress for about 6 years, its marvellous, l have osteoarthritis in my lower back and neck.Would not swap the mattress and pillow ( memory foam as well) for anything else.

Yes, they are good for your bed but what you must also consider is the base of your bed.

l have wooden slats on mine as they also help with movement.

It is not worth having a memory foam mattress on a divan base (but that is just what I've read so l do not know how true that is).

Bad backs are so individual, it is really hard to say what will help someone else - even doctors can not, that is why we end up trying so many treatments!

Personally, l did not find the memory foam helped much at all. But given your weight, well, it seems to suit best people who are less 'curvy', as it were, so maybe worth a go?
l am using one of the very good feather bed toppers (mine is from QVC) and that works much better for me
