I am always tired whether l get a lot of sleep or not..is there any way to feel better rested?

read up on sleep apnea. where you stop breathing during sleep for short periods of time. can cause you to feel not well rested the next day

l agree with Karli. Sleep Apnoea is very common. Ask someone in ur house if u snore a lot. This is one of the outward signs of sleep apnoea.
Some people will tell u that u r either a) too young to have it (some kids as young as 5 have it) or b) you're too skinny to have it (my husband weights less than 145 lbs. & has it).
Ask ur doctor to set up an appointment with a sleep specialist & ask for a sleep study to be done. They will monitor u throughout the night with a bunch of probes (none directly into the skin) to find out if u stop breathing & how many times in one night (you do not realize that this happens when u sleep, u roll over or something that starts the breathing again. It is only for a few seconds at a time). A suggestion l have for u is to take ur own pillow with u for the test. l know that sleeping in a strange bed is difficult for some people but having ur own pillow helps. Also, make sure u wear very comfortable PJ's. Even better would be if u were to wear a T-shirt & shorts because of the probes they put on ur legs.
Another thing that could be happening is called Restless Leg Syndrome. This is where ur legs r active when u sleep. They could kick out & things like that. Are ur blankets all messed up in the morning when u wake up? Again, this can be determined when u have a sleep study done.
Please do not delay in asking for this test. If u r a student, ur grades could be affected from being so tired all the time. My daughter is grades improved from a 65% average to over 80% once she was diagnosed & treated. If u r working, again, ur productivity on the job is probably affected by this & it will improve with treatment.
