l get migraines and they hurt soooo much. only one of my friends get them too, but no one else. l get them every 4 months is there a reason why so specific? l use imitrix but it makes me throw up every single time. is this normal for a 16 year old

l get migraines and i'm 15. Usually because i'm focusing to hard or i'm too stressed. l take exedrin migraine but it makes me drowsy but no throwing up. Do not switch to anything until you talk to your doctor!

l used to get them WEEKLY!! But now.. since my schedule is more steady & l am a healthier person in general; my migraines have gone down to perhaps once a month or two. Migraines usually come about when u r stressed. Too much thinking & not enough water & certain vitamins cos ur brain to stress out. Thus, causing u to get pains = also known as headaches. Sometimes people get the worse kind = migraines. Yes, it is very normal. For me, migraines run in the family.

My advice to u is do not take imitrix. ONLY take it when u really really can not stand the pain. The very best thing to do when u get migraines is to SLEEP it off. The pain actually gets u into bed. Drink a glass of warm water before u hit the sack. Get plenty of water & have enough sleep. Also if u get more regular exercises, this helps a lot too.

l do not know, consult your doctor though. l get migraines and i'm 17, but it is because of back problems.

Migraines tend to run in families.and r more common in women than men. They involve a widening of the blood vessels in the head & a tightening of the muscles in the head which irritate the nerves causing a headache.
Younger people do seem to be more affected probably due to a hormonal relationship ( increased oestrogen)...Migraines can also be triggered by certain foods, stress, pregnancy.
Nausea & vomitting is a common symptom & not necessarily caused by ur drugs,in fact, vomitting sometimes relieves the headache.
Rest in a quiet dark room, & keep a migraine diary to see if u can figure out what the triggers r for you. Over the counter pain killers may help, & prophylactics such as beta blockers can be used if migraines r very frequent ( say weekly)
It would pay to have ur blood pressure checked a few times to rule out hypertension.
