Its been one week to the day l have broken my hand. Am l supposed to be icing it or applying heat?(i have temporary cast on till swelling goes down and get real cast next week.)

Ice ur hand. Ice is better for acute injuries & heat is better for chronic injuries. When u injure an area, blood flow increases to this area, which as a result, the temperature of the area increases. For every 1 degree increase in temperature, the oxygen demand to the area is increased 10-13%, & a lack of oxygen to the area leads to death of healthy cells. The ice helps cool the temperature down to avoid this. It also helps prevent some swelling, but wo not decrease any swelling.

use ice not heat it will be better for ur hand
