Unless the patient requires a fluid bolus/boluses, the paramedic may use an INT rather than hanging a bag of IV fluid.
Monitor infusion at appropriate rate.

INT is often short for intermittent access. It means they leave in the canula for access to the vein for doses of medicine, but that they no longer run fluids into it continuously. it is also called a PRN adapter in some places.
